Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded community based emergency services organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

The primary role of the Project Manager is to ensure the successful delivery of PMO projects as assigned, including monitoring and reporting, and the provision of advice to senior management and key stakeholders. The Project Manager will bring significant project management capability and expertise to the Program.

The Project Manager will lead and be part of a team responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the activities outlined in the program management plan at the project level. The Project Manager is responsible for managing and implementing all aspects of the project to achieve project outcomes within specified timeframes, within or below budget and to the satisfaction of the program manager and relevant stakeholders while ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will have

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating multiple and/or complex projects and an understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills that demonstrate the ability to obtain effective cooperation and contribution from stakeholders (intra and inter project collaboration) and ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to negotiate and deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial resources
  • Tertiary qualifications in project management or equivalent experience (desirable)
