Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded community-based emergency service organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. While our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property and prepare our community for emergencies.

The Manager Strategic Communication will develop and lead key internal and external communications and engagement strategies for CFA ,  including delivering the CFA narrative and brand story, identifying and managing key stakeholder relationships, leading cultural/organisational change communications and developing behavioural change campaigns which ensure Victorians understand, plan and prepare for their fire risk.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or communications or extensive experience as a senior communications practitioner;
  • Exceptional leadership skills including proven experience developing and managing high performing teams;
  • Extensive experience in developing and leading change communications within a large and complex organisation;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing innovative behaviour change campaigns for multi-channel delivery;
  • Proven ability and experience in developing organisation-wide stakeholder engagement strategies and implementation plans, including the management of a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing end-to-end communications strategies which support a wide-range of projects and programs;
  • Extensive experience in community engagement strategy and tactics, in support of overall organisational objectives
  • IAP2 accreditation (preferred)
