Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded community based emergency services organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

About the Role:

The Senior Engagement Advisor - Capability will work collaboratively across CFA to build member capacity to engage with and educate community and enhance resilience. The role involves working collaboratively with members and stakeholders to build the capability and capacity of our people to engage with community through a variety of new and existing programs and initiatives. A key focus will be working with other departments to develop capability frameworks, conduct training needs analyses, co-design and facilitate learning and development interventions and create learning resources and supporting tools.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A bachelor or post graduate degree in education or similar
  • At least five years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills and ability to create a range of learning resources and community engagement content across a range of media
  • Familiarity with community engagement, community capacity building and volunteer, member or community-based organisations (desirable)
  • Ability to lead and influence across a large and geographically dispersed volunteer and community-based organisation
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher (an advantage)
