The promenade is very popular and you can walk, run, ride or skate along this scenic trail. Almost every year between June and September the Southern Right Whales return to the waters off Warrnambool and often swim within a hundred meters of the shore.

Position Details

Warrnambool is a thriving seaside city with a population of 34,000 and a catchment area of 110,000 people. South West Healthcare is considered one of the most modern and technologically advanced health services in regional Australia. The Warrnambool campus is the major specialist referral centre for south west Victoria and provides a comprehensive range of specialist services.  

The Community Rehabilitation Manager oversees South West Healthcare's Community Rehabilitation Programs and the Transition Care Program. 

This role has a strategic and operational leadership focus, to design and implement an innovative and person-centred model of care to: 

  • Enhance access to services
  • Connect services between the acute hospital and community based services to ensure that clients have seamless care throughout their recovery journey
  • Measure and improve clinical outcomes and client experiences 

South West Healthcare has a well renowned supportive workplace culture with an opportunity to work alongside experienced health professionals and managers. The Community Rehabilitation and Transition Care programs are delivered by an established and progressive multidisciplinary team which includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Podiatry, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Allied Health Assistants, and Nursing services.


The team works from a new multipurpose community based facility in the CBD of Warrnambool, with access to modern well-equipped clinical spaces, fleet vehicles, laptops and remote internet access to assist in the delivery of services within home, community and aged care settings. 

A comprehensive Manager orientation program is available, along with supervision, and leadership development opportunities. 

The successful applicant will have a degree in Nursing or Allied Health, an engaging and collaborative leadership style, and excellent communication and influencing skills.  A strong track record in leadership in a relevant clinical setting is a definite advantage. 

Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience, plus superannuation.  Attractive salary packaging options are available.
