About the role:

This is an opportunity to lead and develop Victoria Legal Aid's (VLA) program of family violence legal services throughout Victoria. Reporting to the Associate Director, Family Violence Response, you will develop and implement strategic objectives for the Family Violence program. This will include managing projects across professional and community legal education, best practice standards and nurturing expertise through a legal team in Melbourne, lawyers across VLA's offices and through our community legal centre and private practitioner partners. You will play a lead role in collaboration with stakeholders and non-legal family violence services to improve services for clients, including in relation to Specialist Family Violence Courts.

About you:
You will have a strong commitment to the vision of VLA and a track record of leading and motivating teams to make a difference to clients of legal services, ideally in relation to family violence services. Your ability to identify emerging trends and develop and implement strategic priorities, in combination with your excellent communication and relationship management skills, will see you develop and implement policies and systems that will have a lasting impact for clients of family violence services across the state.

About Victoria Legal Aid:
Our vision is for a fair and just society where rights and responsibilities are upheld. With over 800 staff employed in 15 offices across Victoria, we help people with their legal problems by providing information, advice and education with a focus on the prevention and early resolution of legal problems. We also provide legal representation to those who need it most.

Employee benefits:
We offer attractive employment benefits including salary packaging (making part of your salary tax-free), flexible working arrangements, family friendly policies and opportunities for professional development. Whilst the work is challenging, you will be rewarded with a culture that is focused on achieving quality outcomes for disadvantaged Victorians.
