The Commercial Partnerships and Operations Directorate provides the strategies, specialist advice, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver core support services to enable Parks Victoria to be financially sustainable, high performing, and ensure our activities are aligned with strategic objectives.

By providing targeted and effective customer service, the Directorate enables the realisation and activation of visitor economy opportunities through commercial assets that improve their value to Parks Victoria, communities, partners and the State of Victoria. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Directorate 3-year Business and Action Plan and in partnership with community and government agencies.


About the role

The key function of the Commercial Services Officer is to investigate, assess, develop and negotiate new commercial agreements (including leases, licences, permits and consents) on Parks Victoria managed land and assist in the management of existing agreements. The role will encompass projects across the state.

The Commercial Services Officer will serve as a liaison and contact point in the commercial agreements team for
regional staff. The role will also be responsible for contributing to the development of policies and key initiatives and providing feedback on policies, procedures, guidelines and legislative requirements relating to commercial agreements.


To be successful for this role you will need;

  • Sound knowledge and experience in commercial property, facilities or contract management involving leases, licences, permits and/or consents.
  • Well-developed negotiation and interpersonal skills (both written and oral) including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in land and/or property management or approved equivalent would be desirable.
  • Regular and unplanned travel to rural and remote areas of Victoria (including areas where no public transport options exist) may be required as part of this role.
