The Role

As a Planning and Environment Advisor you will play a vital advisory role for MRPV. You will have strong knowledge of the planning and environmental approvals process, both at state and federal level, and will be advising project teams on compliance, planning approval amendments and other planning and environmental issues to ensure that our projects are both compliant and achieving key milestones. You'll also be working with a variety of stakeholders including the EPA, Heritage Victoria, DELWP and councils. 

This role provides an opportunity to be part of the full project life cycle, from input into the development of new projects at business case stage, the preparation of planning and environmental documentation such as Environment Effects Statements and assisting with environmental monitoring and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a multi-disciplined team and contribute to the success of our major projects from day one. 

About You

You will be working in fast paced, multidisciplinary project environment, so we are looking for people who thrive in that environment and understand the project life cycle. You'll be good at using your initiative and can deal with complex planning and environmental enquiries. You will have worked in a similar project delivery environment before and have strong demonstrated experience in providing planning and environmental advice. You will have a sound understanding of planning and environmental approvals and relevant legislation. You will be a strong team player and will have excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 

Our projects are large scale ($30 million - $2 billion) and we currently have two Planning and Environment Advisor positions available: 

• 1 position will be based in our CBD office with travel to project offices as required. 

• 1 position will be working on our Barwon Heads and Western Highway projects. It will be based in the CBD with regular travel to the Ballarat region. Or alternatively, you can be based in one of our regional offices in Geelong or Ballarat with regular travel to the CBD. 

Please note that you will need to be flexible to travel in this role and the office location and project may change over time.
