The role is developmental, and under supervision the successful applicant will work in the following areas:
• verifying the accuracy and legal effectiveness of draft legislation and subordinate legislation, including compliance with style
• capturing, verifying and tracking data on the key elements, lifecycle stages and commencement arrangements for legislation
• consolidating and checking amended versions of legislation, ensuring their accuracy and facilitating their timely publication for the State of Victoria.

The role would suit a self-motivated person with a commitment to process, and strong attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, in a highly focused manner, is essential.

The Office of the Chief Parliamentary Counsel plays a vital role in the implementation of government policy by drafting legislation and providing quality advice for the Victorian Government's legislative program.
