About the Business Unit

The Hume Region delivers a range of services through Justice Service Centres at Wangaratta, Shepparton, and Wodonga and at and also has two prisons, the minimum-security Beechworth Correctional Centre, and H.M. Prison Dhurringile.

The Corporate Governance and Support Business unit is responsible for providing the region with a range of corporate support functions including human resources, finance, and procurement, planning and reporting, administration, and workforce development.


About the Role

The Justice Officer – Administration works with the varied business units at the Justice Service Centre and provides accurate and timely administrative support services for the different business areas at the location.  The role has a strong focus on service delivery to clients, internal and external stakeholders and also into the public.

Some of your duties may include:

  • Strong attention to detail and high-level organisational skills required
  • High level of integrity and exemplary customer service ability
  • Fast paced, diverse and challenging role
  • Coordinate location mail including being responsible for the security and appropriate record keeping of incoming and outgoing mail as relevant.


About You

As our ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience within an administrative capacity within a government department would be advantageous
  • Experience using a records management system (TRIM / HPE Records Manager)
  • Experience in managing reception duties.
  • Proactively identifying client needs providing options and referrals where appropriate
  • Assisting clients to navigate the linkages between the department's range of services

The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its employees consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic).   • Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
