The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) was established in 2015 to oversee the largest rail infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, including the elimination of 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne. To date, 31 level crossings have been removed, 18 train stations have been rebuilt, new track has been laid, and eight level crossing removals are now in construction. Senior Project Engineer – Interface and Assurance

  • High-profile rail infrastructure project
  • Salary range of $98,396 - $119,052 plus superannuation  
  • One full time, fixed term VPS 5 opportunity for up to 3 years

An exceptional opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), by contributing and adding value to get the best outcomes and to make a significant impact on one of the largest infrastructure projects in Victoria's history.

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer – Interface & Assurance will be embedded within a package team with a functional reporting line to Program Level Systems Assurance Manager, to ensure precise coordination and governance of the interface and systems assurance activities between projects to deliver an integrated assured project outcome.  The Senior Project Engineer – Interface and Assurance will be responsible for providing critical Project Assurance between projects and the Department of Transport on the delivery of client requirements.  The role is expected to provide professional expertise in supervising the management of engineering interfaces and requirements on a project as well as managing and delivering Interface Control between interfacing projects.  The position will also be responsible for proactively coordinating the systems assurance and change management activities against the client requirements. 

Key to your application will be your systems engineering experience, preferably from a similar rail project, where you have experience and knowledge of metropolitan rail network including operations, maintenance and rail systems. You will also have extensive knowledge of interface management and change management specific to client requirements.  It is your strong ability to influence, add value, and contribute and assist in achieving the best outcomes that will also ensure your success in this critical role.
