About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for suitably qualified persons for the position of Allied Health Assistant (AHA) in our Social Work and Counselling Department.

The primary objective of the AHA role is to assist in the delivery of social work and counselling services to people admitted to hospital and to clients in the community. The AHA will work alongside the social work team members to support them in their roles, and will work directly with admitted patients and with community clients under the supervision and delegation of the lead Social Worker.

This position is 64 hours per fortnight temporary until January 2021. The ideal commencement date for the successful applicant is February 2020.

What you bring

As an Allied Health Assistant you will have a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant or equivalent. Working as part of a collaborative and highly skilled team of professionals, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, and a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of legislation, regulation and contemporary practice is a must.
