Position Details

The Digital, Design and Innovation (DDI) Branch provides value to the Victorian Public Service (VPS) and all of Victoria through better design and solving problems together. DDI does this by: 

  • courageously asking why - or why not? 
  • exploring alternate perspectives and pathways 
  • embedding a mindset of possibility, creativity, opportunity and abundance 
  • designing together. 

Working within a dedicated, collaborative team designing and delivering digital services. You will be driving continuous improvement across a range of hosting infrastructure services. The main focus will be on OpenShift based hosting platforms used by Single Digital Presence (SDP) project, collaboration on a similar stack for the Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) API, The technology stack includes some standard AWS and Azure VM based hosting services as well as CI/CD pipelines using tools including Lagoon (, GitHub, Ansible and CircleCI.

As the Senior DevOps Engineer you will also run architectural reviews, drive continuous improvement in system performance, scalability and security.

To be successful, you will have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a similar degree, or currently completing this tertiary qualification.
