About the role:
Internal Legal Services is an exciting new team at Victoria Legal Aid (VLA), that provides legal services to Executive Directors, managers and staff about their professional responsibilities, ethics, statutory and other regulatory obligations. The team is also responsible for VLA's complaints handling, Freedom of Information requests and Privacy issues.

This role will provide high quality administrative support to the team including calendar management, preparing agendas, papers and minutes and responding to requests for information via telephone or electronically. You will assist the team by triaging requests for legal advice from internal staff as well as internal and external complaints and enquiries and support timely and appropriate responses to Freedom of Information requests. You will also help to keep the team's intranet and online resources up to date using a content management system.

About you:
You will have strong administration experience with excellent attention to detail, advanced computer skills, and sound time management strategies. You will have highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively to solve problems with internal and external stakeholders, including clients from disadvantaged backgrounds You will be ready to contribute to a positive team culture, and to make your contribution to the continuous improvement of our service delivery.

Crucial to your success in this role will be your excellent organisational skills, commitment to quality and ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously in a complex and confidential environment. You will have experience in an administrative role in the legal and/or public sector or as a paralegal.
