Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded community-based emergency services organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

About the Role:

Our Community Engagement team is seeking a Senior Engagement Advisor. Working closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Engagement Advisor (Internal Engagement) will play a key role in building and strengthening communication and collaboration across CFA, to enable consistent program service delivery.

As Senior Engagement Advisor, you will provide specialist advice, direction and leadership on matters relating to community engagement and service delivery. Your proven leadership skills will also see you building the capability of our own team members to engage with facilitate engagement with key internal stakeholders. 

This is an exciting opportunity to proactively contribute to the identification and creation of new opportunities for engagement across CFA, with a view to improving front line service delivery.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g.: internal communications, community engagement, community safety, project management) is preferred, and/or relevant industry experience (equivalent 3 years minimum).
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and facilitation.
  • Highly developed organisational and planning skills in the context of a complex, changing business environment requiring agility and flexibility.
  • Proven leadership skills that demonstrate the ability to obtain effective cooperation and contribution from stakeholders and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders at varying levels and seniority.
  • Ability to work autonomously across various locations across Victoria, while maintaining a strong presence within the team.
