About the role:
Join Victoria Legal Aid (VLA)'s specialised discrimination law team and help to create a society that embraces difference, promotes equality and is intolerant of discrimination. VLA's Equality Law Program provides legal advice and representation to people who have experienced discrimination, and advocates changes to laws, policies and practices to promote substantive equality through high impact work. You will act as an advocate by providing legal advice and representation in civil law matters, primarily in the area of discrimination law. You will also assist the Program Manager to undertake strategic advocacy that promotes equality, particularly through law and policy reform. You will also be required to develop and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships. You may be involved in community education projects and assist in the development and implementation of strategies and policies to improve client services. 

About you:
You will have experience in civil law and relevant court procedures and knowledge of or practical experience in discrimination law. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to form productive professional relationships and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients at all levels. Your collaborative approach and sound teamwork skills will be crucial to your success in this role.
