About the role

An exciting opportunity to expand and develop your skills as a qualified Allied Health Assistant (AHA) is currently available in the South West Healthcare Social Work and Counselling team. AHA's with experience or interest in social work and a Certificate IV Allied Health Assistance who display an aptitude to work within a healthcare setting are encouraged to apply.

The primary role of the AHA - Social Work is to assist in the delivery of social work to people admitted to hospital and to clients in the community. The AHA will work alongside the Social Work team members to support them in their roles, and will work directly with admitted patients, including acute and subacute and with community clients under the supervision and delegation of the Social Worker. The AHA is an essential member of the Social Work team, which includes Social Workers, Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Outreach Worker, Disability Liaison and Aged Care Liaison and will be an active part of the hospital's broader multi-disciplinary team.

This is a permanent part time position 64 hours per fortnight

What you bring

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining professional confidentiality and remaining customer focused at all times. Previous skills and experience as an Allied Health Assistant working in Social Work will be highly regarded and a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance is essential.
