Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded, community-based emergency services organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. About the Role:

In the Business Analyst role, you will help drive CFA's capabilities in evidence-based decision making – providing professional analysis and timely data and information to allow outcomes which support CFA in ensuring Victorian communities are prepared for and safe from fire.

You will deliver insightful analysis using data and information sources to drive evidence-based decision-making - utilising business intelligence to understand issues and solve them effectively. You will provide generalist process mapping, data extraction, transformation, visualisation and delivery of data and information working collaboratively across the organisation to support key projects.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should:

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Information Technology or and/ or extensive industry experience in a business analyst role.
  • Be able to demonstrate the delivery of successful business cases and other BA specific outcomes.
  • Hold sound experience with conversion and migrations for large scale core information systems within Government; emergency agencies is a plus.
  • Demonstrate experience with data governance frameworks, enterprise database environments and BI analytical tooling such as:
    • Power BI,
    • Tableau and
    • SQL Server Management Studio; exposure to GIS applications and data is highly desirable.
  • Be a strong communicator (written and verbal), and have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
