About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for you to join the Planned Burn Taskforce project at the CFA. The purpose of this project is to provide volunteer resources to support burning programs throughout the State of Victoria and to ensure that volunteer resources with the appropriate qualifications are available upon request and mobilised in a timely manner.

In the Administration Support Officer – Planned Burn Taskforce position, you will be responsible for maintaining databases, actioning requests for resources, matching requests with volunteers, distributing movement orders, recording activities and administering the financial needs of the taskforce.

About You:

To succeed in this position, you'll:

  • Be proactive with a proven ability to work with minimal supervision, implementing agreed procedures, problem-solving and overcoming obstacles.
  • Have experience working within challenging, demanding and time-constrained environments.
  • Be able to plan, and coordinate resource demands as requested.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be skilled using software packages, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, along with databases, and keen to learn and adopt new software as required.
  • Have solid organisational skills, managing scheduling and providing logistical support to events and functions.
  • Have an understanding of brigade based procedures; nnowledge of SMSer and Viper messaging systems desirable.
  • Have emergency services operations knowledge.
