About the Opportunity

Multiple roles available in the North East Link Project's Freeway Package Works, providing opportunities to manage Drainage & Flood Designs, Road Design & Structural Designs. Reporting to the Senior Technical Design Manager, the Design Manager will play an integral role in the design and delivery of one of the most exciting road transport projects in Victoria to date. These roles will be responsible for coordinating and managing the drainage and flood design, all aspects of Road Design and Structural Design and Major Road/Civil Structures across the Freeway Package Works of the North East Link. As a subject matter expert, you provide high level technical advice to project team members and executives.

You will be responsible for overseeing engineering components of work undertaken by the Alliances to provide design, planning, and consultation services across the project. Position may require to be part of Alliance Team, providing technical advice to senior management on complex engineering issues arising from and impacting on the project, including the identification and management of project risks. Collaborate with key stakeholders including MTIA, DoT, other Government agencies, utilities authorities and consultants.

About You

As an experienced Design Manager, you bring expertise in complex Drainage and Flood Design, all aspects of Road Design and Geometry and Major Road/Civil Structures as well as exposure to other areas such as utilities. You are experienced in utilising MicroStation CAD and ideally have exposure to various digital engineering software's.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, high level stakeholder development and interface management capabilities, as well as experience in;
  • Overseeing progress of managing contractors in a complex transport environment, ensuring all deliverables are met to scope, time, and cost requirements
  • Managing and overseeing drainage and flood design, road or structural design, and design review considerations within a complex infrastructure environment
  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering or science related discipline
