Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded, community-based emergency services organisations. About the Role:

A full time, fixed term opportunity within the Program Development section of the Community Engagement Team has arisen to fill the Community Engagement Advisor (CEA) – Program Development role through to 30 June 2023.  This position is based at CFA Headquarters and will involve consultation with our districts, regions and external stakeholders. 

Reporting to the Senior Engagement Advisor Program Development, this position will work as part of a team to develop, renew and implement community fire safety programs and community engagement and education activities for fire preparedness. 

The CEA will bring significant project management capability and expertise to the Community Engagement team.  They will be responsible for the coordination of projects and aligned activities that focus on the design, development and delivery of community education programs, as outlined in the Community Engagement Business Plan. This will include development, documentation and delivery of program logics, program learning outcomes, supporting resources, policy and governance.

The CEA plays a key role in maintaining and building stakeholder relationships with a range of stakeholders, throughout CFA and across CFA field staff. The CEA will bring a ‘customer-focused' approach to providing advice and support to key stakeholders.

As required, the CEA will also be responsible for coordination and support activities for the development and continuous improvement of policy, strategy, guidance documentation and innovation activities related to community engagement and education programs.

About You:

The person we are looking for will hold a relevant undergraduate qualification and/or experience in developing/delivery programs working with communities.  Further to you this you will have both the ability and knowledge of planning, leading and facilitating groups and meetings.

Crucial to your success in this role will be your demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating projects and a strong understanding of project management methodologies.

Ideally you will also bring well-developed written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet tight work demands.
