Position Details

Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) is Victoria's safety regulator responsible for electricity, gas and pipeline safety. Our role is to ensure that Victorian gas and electricity industries are safe and meet community expectations. We are also responsible for licensing and registering electricians, and educating the community about energy safety. Our people come from a wide range of professions with diverse skills and experience driving the success of ESV.

About the opportunity

We have a fantastic permanent, full-time ongoing opportunity for a Performance Analyst based at our Brandon Park or Southbank office. Reporting into the Head of Performance and Improvement, you will contribute by:

  • Developing and delivering routine and adhoc enterprise reporting at an organisational (Tier 1 and Tier 2) level.

  • Maintaining working relationships and operational interfaces with internal stakeholders across ESV.

  • Informing and assisting with the development and visualisation of information and insights.

  • Maintaining close collaborative relationships with the Data and Analytics team.

  • Analysing and interpreingt information to identify issues and trends and deliver insights on current, emerging and future trends.

  • Developing and delivering routine and adhoc reporting divisional and team (Tier 3 and Tier 4) level in-house data analysis and routine reporting capability.

  • Supporting the development, implementation and use of information systems and tools into reporting practices and ensure the outputs produced are relevant, timely and effective.

  • Other duties as required.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in data and analytics, business, engineering or similar discipline.

  • Data analysis and visuulation experience and expertise (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Clear communication capabilities and strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to interpret complex data and information and effectively communicate findings to others.

  • Experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of a broad range of performance measures.

  • Good interpersonal, influencing, presentation and relationship building skills.

  • Ability to operate independently, self-motivated, as well as ability to work effectively as part of a small cross functional team.

  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills, ability to investigate, analyse, develop reporting solutions and introduce improvements.

  • Adept at managing and meeting deadlines.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and Word).
