Position Details

Senior Business Engagement Officer

$88,955 – $100,930 plus superannuation

The team

The Information Security Unit consists of a specialised team of subject matter experts dedicated to protecting public sector information and information systems. This unit is responsible for delivering the Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) and Standards (VPDSS), developing policy and providing practical information security advice to the Victorian Public Sector. The unit also assists with reviews, audits and information security assurance activities.

Key responsibilities of the role

The role of Senior Business Engagement Officer includes undertaking research, providing practical advice on the Victorian public sector agencies on information security issues, and analysing and assisting in the development of policy initiatives. The Senior Business Engagement Officer may also be called on to assist with assurance activities of OVIC, including helping with investigations and audits.

Key skills and attributes

  • A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate tertiary qualification, or relevant experience in Information Security, or stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to develop a common understanding and address their needs.
  • Comprehensive experience in writing material for use in a variety of publications, including proofreading and editing, and an ability to simplify complex ideas into easily digestible concepts.
  • Experience in the delivery of training and awareness activities.

Security cleared position

Due to the nature of OVIC's work, you must successfully apply for a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance following your appointment and be an Australian citizen.
