Service Victoria is an Administrative Office within the Department of Premier & Cabinet charged with simplifying, improving and modernising essential government transactions and delivering customer service.  We are working hard to deliver a customer service system around what Victorians want and need, rather than what works for government. We know people want easier access to government transactions, including online options. Customer feedback about our service has been overwhelmingly positive with satisfaction rated at around 96 percent. We are a customer-centric organisation with functional expertise in customer experience, product development, public policy, agile delivery, information technology, service management and corporate governance.  We have a mature digital services platform of contemporary cloud-based infrastructure, technical architecture and scalable and reusable common capabilities, with real-time integration into agency legacy systems.  We will continue to progressively add new transactions and new functionality to existing capabilities, including digital licences, digital proof of identity, online accounts and payments, with a particular focus on our mobile app.

Position Details

Key responsibilities: 

  • Working closely with hiring managers, manage and deliver end to end recruitment processes, including, providing strategic recruitment advice, taking briefs and creating position descriptions, advertisements, behavioural interview guides and providing applicant and client feedback / follow up. 

  • Manage pre-employment screening processes and outcomes whilst also maintaining and recording an extensive array of recruitment activity and live tracking data. 

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders with the confidence to influence and negotiate on recruitment decisions, provide recruitment advice and ensure recruitment activities are planned and delivered within agreed timeframes. 

  • Keep up to date with a rapidly changing environment and work with the business to ensure policies and processes are adhered to and the clients' needs are met. 

  • Prepare a range of reports and written material including, briefing notes, selection reports, user guides and documentation of recruitment activity. 

  • Provide exceptional customer service in all recruitment activities, with a strong emphasis on candidate care. 

  • Support and assist the employment programs activity and DPC inductions whilst also participating in recruitment related projects as and when required. 

  • Work collaboratively and provide authoritative advice to the People and Culture team and hiring managers in delivering positive and coordinated outcomes. 

  • Provide advice and support on the recruitment system and online recruitment processes as well as identify and recommend enhancements to systems and processes to improve quality and service delivery outcomes. 

 

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Proven extensive experience in a similar position conducting end to end recruitment and selection and delivering successful outcomes in an internal corporate recruitment function, along with working knowledge of talent and applicant management systems. 

  • Clearly and confidently communicates with people at all levels of the organisation coupled with high attention to detail and strong written communication skills. 

  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills to make sound judgements, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and provide advice on processes, policies and best practice recruitment.  

  • Provide exceptional customer service with demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver recruitment outcomes in a challenging and evolving environment. 

  • Highly developed initiative, demonstrated accountability and adaptability in a dynamic setting with limited supervision. 

 

Desired qualifications practical experience  

  • Familiarity with Lever Recruitment is highly desirable or similar talent acquisition systems. 

  • Exposure to and understanding of public sector or government settings.
