Position Details

Who we are
Service Victoria is an Administrative Office within the Department of Premier & Cabinet and is charged with simplifying, improving and modernising essential government transactions and delivering customer service.

We are working hard to deliver a customer service system around what Victorians want and need, rather than what works for government. We know people want easier access to government transactions, including online options.

Our staff are customer-centric and work in project teams made up of subject matter experts from a range of backgrounds – including customer experience, product development, public policy, law, corporate operations, project management and information technology.

The opportunity
Service Victoria has just delivered its initial three-year program, which included establishing the new agency and delivering a digital services platform of contemporary cloud-based infrastructure, technical architecture and scalable and reusable common capabilities, with real-time integration into agency legacy systems.

Our initial limited public ‘beta' release has been successful with more than 270,000 customers served and 90 percent rating their experience as good or great.As Service Victoria moves into our operational phase over the coming months, we will begin progressively adding new transactions and new functionality to existing capabilities, including digital licences, digital proof of identity, online accounts and payments.

Service Victoria is now focused on building the future organisation and the appropriate IT organisation structure and capability that will allow the implemented solutions to be maintained, supported and expanded on an on-going basis.You will also have a chance to work on continuously improving our service offering by bringing in structured improvements based on data analytics and insights from customer experience officers.

The key responsibilities

The Workplace Technology Engineer will work across Service Victoria's business and technical areas.  The role will support the delivery and management of Workplace Technology services to the internal stakeholders.

Desired qualifications & practical experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business Management, or similar
  • ITIL or Microsoft Certifications
  • Experience in Cloud Hosting platforms e.g. Azure and AWS
  • Experience in networking e.g. Firewalls, Routing, Switching, Wireless, etc.
  • Extensive experience in Full Microsoft Stack, including Azure, AD, Exchange, PowerShell, MFA etc.
  • Extensive experience of the following technology platforms:
    • Modern telephony and Contact Centre platforms
    • Monitoring / Alerting platforms and tools
    • Desktop provisioning (Win-10)
    • Remote access
    • Intune /  Autpilot
    • O365
    • Audio Visual
    • Exposure to DevOps principles & practises
