Position Details

About the role

The Administrative Support Officer position is responsible for organising, maintaining and performing general administrative and reception duties to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the clinic. Working alongside other Administrative Support Officers, GPs, Nurse Practitioners and the Practice Manager. This position will be responsible for but is not limited to:

  • Greeting & welcoming clients to the practice
  • Respond to requests for patient appointments with GPs
  • Maintain electronic medical files and office records
  • Raise accounts following all clinic consultations and maintain up to date knowledge of correct billing procedures
  • Receipting and banking of all incoming payments
  • Scanning & photocopying patient histories/referrals/results as required
  • Managing all processes associated with processing of referrals
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are stocked with appropriate practice stationary on a daily basis

This is a part time (40 hours per fortnight) position and will be rostered to work a range of morning and afternoon shifts across a 6 day per week roster.

What you bring

The successful applicant must be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently. They are required to demonstrate well developed communication, organisational and time management skills. An ability to manage and remain calm, warm and friendly in a busy workplace is essential.

Previous experience in a general practice environment; skills in using Windows operating systems or knowledge of GP administrative or clinical software's; and an understanding of medical terminology are all desirable skills and experience but is not essential.
