Director, Cost Planning

In this role you will be responsible for the leadership of a high-performing Cost Planning team, the provision of high-level advice, support and driving the development of cost control functions for the various portfolio of projects within the Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV). We are looking for a proven track record in leading a Cost Planning strategy within a business, including the development, oversight and maintenance of cost procedures, system and governance. The role will require collaborative alignment across the organisation and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a broad range of internal and external parties.

  • Providing strong leadership and expert direction to a large team of specialists to implement industry best practice and systems for cost control activities, ensuring projects are delivered on a financially sound basis and to the satisfaction of key stakeholders. 
  • Leading and driving superior performance of the Cost Control team in a matrix style structure that supports the development and delivery of the MRPV portfolio of 40 live projects and growing.
  • Leading MRPV's compliance with commercial, contractual and reporting requirements and ensure accurate cashflow forecasting across the project portfolio.  
  • Providing strong leadership to project teams, cost consultants, estimators and schedulers to integrate cost control requirements, data collection, collation, verification and reporting into MRPV.
  • Building partnerships with senior leaders across MRPV to ensure cost estimates are prepared to support Program Delivery Approach project delivery.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which will include national police checks and misconduct screening.
