Position Details

VPS 6 ($127,467 - $159,801) + Super

This role resides in the Transport Communication & Experience Division, and supports the Department to deliver on the Government's transport agenda, to get people home sooner and safer and to efficiently move more goods in Victoria's thriving economy. The role will be part of a cross-functional team to deliver one of the Department's digital modernisation programs, set-up for scale to enable clear and foundational digital experiences across the Department's digital assets, moving towards a standardised technology framework.

Role Purpose

Responsible for managing the digital content team, the ideal candidate will be a savvy researcher and overall problem solver. They are an excellent writer, editor and style guide expert. They can adapt to a brief's requirements from delivering short, operational messages that are succinct, accurate and timely; to engaging longer form marketing using story telling. They are crucial in ensuring that the team are taking messages from the business and translating them into digestible language for the everyday user.

  • Support content and document audit across all DoT websites in parallel with mapping re-imagined content into new website page template designs
  • Deploy an iterative approach to research and discovery to inform a data-led approach to customer intent
  • Lead the content strategy to ensure customer and business requirements are embedded across DoT
  • Lead stakeholder engagement to gain endorsement and approval for all content re-imagination
  • Edit/Create new content for the designated audience that is relevant, accessible and conforms to brand style/voice
  • Ensure new website page designs and all content embody end-to-end customer journey & business requirements
  • Conduct gap analysis to understand mapping tools that are not digitised or accessible to all audiences
  • People management to achieve outcomes in alignment with project roadmap deliverables

Mandatory Qualifications and experience

  • University degree in Marketing, English, Journalism or related field
  • 3+ years' experience working as a Content Writer Copywriter or similar role in digital, marketing, communications etc.
  • Experience leading high performing teams
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, user experience and human-centre design disciplines
