Position Details

Working at Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) means being part of something big.

We oversee more than 35 projects as a cornerstone of Victoria's Big Build, including some of the State's most important roads.

And with this growing portfolio of projects, it is vitally important that we strategically drive the development of our cost control functions/processes. Our Cost Controller function plays a key role in helping us achieve this.

Join us in building better connections for Victoria by:

  • Providing support to the Senior Cost Controller in the development, delivery and ongoing maintenance of cost controls, systems and processes
  • Developing innovative indicators to assess program and project performance, and produce regular reporting to management and stakeholders
  • Undertaking regular review and analysis of program performance including trend analysis in relation to cost and provide sound advice on corrective actions
  • Providing input into development of innovative cost control initiatives that improve cost control systems and processes

We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller with high level analytical and conceptual skills and a demonstrated ability to analyse data, identify anomalies and implement appropriate solutions. You will have practical experience in computerised cost control systems and your well-developed ability to influence the actions of project team members, and drive required outcomes, will ensure your success in this role.

You will need to draw on your demonstrated experience in maintaining program and project cost controls, systems, and processes.  This opportunity will see you providing advice with the support of your leader to key stakeholders on project management cost control activities so a level of comfort in that role is important.

This is a 3-year fixed term position based at our Essendon Fields hub office. Some travel to the Melbourne CBD will also be required.

We do work that matters:

  • In the last year 46% of the talent we hired were women.  Apply today and be a part of our future
  • Check out our interactive map showing you the enormous scale of what our people do every day
  • Have you heard about our Ecologiq program at MRPV?  We're working closely with the construction industry to remove barriers to the use of recycled content, to make sustainable materials the first choice where possible and pave a greener future for Victoria.

MRPV also welcomes flexible working arrangements, and should you be interested in part time availabilities, we encourage you to apply and discuss your preferences with our Talent Team.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which include national police checks and misconduct screening. Please be advised that it is requirement for all MTIA staff to be compliant with the MTIA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (the Policy). The Policy stipulates that, unless an employee is an Excepted Person within the meaning of the Policy, in order to attend an MTIA workplace the employee must hold ‘up-to-date' vaccination status in accordance with ATAGI guidance, which for most includes their primary vaccination course and booster. Should you require further information about the Policy, please have a conversation with our Talent Acquisition team.

To be part of something meaningful and leave a positive legacy connecting Victorian communities, apply for a role with us today.
