North East Link is the biggest ever investment in Melbourne's north-east – changing the way people move around Melbourne.

Victoria's longest road tunnels will fix the missing link in our city's freeway network, take 15,000 trucks off local roads a day and slash travel times by up to 35 minutes. We'll also complete the Ring Road in Greensborough, overhaul the Eastern Freeway, build Melbourne's first dedicated busway and the North East Trail – more than 34km of walking and cycling paths.

About the Opportunity

Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting role in the North East Link Program's Delivery Freeways!

As our Project Manager – ITS, you will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering and operational aspects of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) for the North and South Package are effectively designed, delivered, commissioned and integrated with the State's Operating System within the designated specific scope, time and budget. 

Reporting to the Manager Delivery, North, you will play a vital role in ensuring that design, procurement, delivery and handover considerations are implemented according to relevant legislations and project specifications. 

This role supports the North and South Packages working alongside the Freeways Design Operations and Integration team as part of a multi-disciplinary team environment.

As the project progresses, this position will be expected to work as part of the Alliance.

Travel and time spent at a future site office (Bulleen, Heidelberg, Watsonia or other) will be requirement of this position.

About You

You are an experienced Project Management professional with a relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated achievement in traffic engineering and the delivery of ITS projects in major projects.

  • Ability to collaborate and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders across project teams, contractors, multiple levels of Government and the community.
  • Understands how to present and provide advice and recommendations to senior management to inform key project decisions and clearly communicate any impacts or risk associated to the project.
  • An effective role model and leader in the management of safety across the project, ensuring the highest ethical standards are adhered to at all times.
