About the role

Applications are invited from suitably experienced persons for the part time (48 hours per fortnight) position of Social Support Group (SSG) Coordinator at the Macarthur Community Health Centre.

This position will oversee our Macarthur SSG program which is an integral part of South West Healthcare's (SWH) Community Health Services, delivering a range of planned and meaningful activities that are focused on individuals' strengths and abilities of eligible frail older people and people living with a disability in the community. The program has an emphasis on ensuring the groups are within a safe environment for people to socialise while participating in healthy enjoyable activities.

The SSG Coordinator will coordinate, manage and be accountable for the operation and running of the SSG program and its resources in accordance with relevant standards and expectations of individuals. The position also encompasses the responsibilities of supporting the onsite coordination of Macarthur based volunteers.

What you bring

The successful applicant will have a minimum of Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure, or in a relevant health or allied health discipline along with of at least 2 years of health related or centre based experience. You must have an ability to supervise staff, work collaboratively and prepare and implement varied programs, hold good interpersonal and communication skills and have a clear understanding of the requirements of confidential record keeping and documentation.

Safe Food Handling Certificate, current Victorian drivers licence and a willingness to obtain a light rigid endorsed licence is also required.
