Position Details

The First Peoples - State Relations Group is seeking talented and passionate individuals committed to progressing the Victorian Government's nation leading work with First Peoples.

This is a unique opportunity to work in new and innovative ways that recognise First Peoples as the self-determining drivers of Aboriginal affairs in Victoria. This role will contribute to the ground-breaking work of the Group in the areas of truth, treaty, self-determination and cultural rights.

As the Project and Grants Officer, you will support the economic capacity and sustainability of Registered Aboriginal Parties and other Aboriginal organisations across Victoria through the management of grants and contracts.

You will also be responsible for working across the team to support project delivery and policy advice.

The Project and Grants Officer will play an active role in engaging and building partnerships across government and communities to influence future investment and achieve better outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • experience working with the Victorian Aboriginal community
  • experience supporting the delivery of grant programs and/or procurement processes
  • a background in delivering projects within agreed timeframes, with the ability to set clear project milestones, objectives and measures
  • strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders
  • strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
