About Quality Auditing at Victoria Legal Aid:
The Quality Audit team (QA) is a relatively new function within the organisation and is responsible for planning and conducting audits based on our practice standards. QA works in partnership with panel practitioners aimed at improving and recognising high quality services provided to our legally aided clients.

The QA and Panels team coordinates the s. ​29A specialist panels and conducts quality audits of:

  • Child Protection Panel
  • Summary Crime Panel
  • Indictable Crime Panel
  • Independent Children's Lawyer Panel
  • Family Law Panel
  • Family Violence Panel

About the role:
Undertake quality audits across a range of specialist panels, ensuring that Victoria Legal Aid's Practice Standards and quality expectations are met. This role involves meeting with practitioners across Melbourne and regional Victoria, auditing practitioner files, following up on audit actions, and conducting training. Specialised training will be provided in advance of conducting audits of each panel. As a new team within VLA, QA is trailblazing this important work; therefore, a significant aspect of the role will involve assisting in the continued development and establishment of frameworks, systems, and procedures.

About you:
You will be an experienced lawyer looking for variety and autonomy in your next role. You will be a methodical and analytical thinker with exceptional relationship-building and diplomacy skills. You will have a good understanding of, and the capacity to carry out, project management and stakeholder engagement functions, analysis and evaluation. You will have an interest in providing professional guidance and training.
