This Role

The Integrated Family Services (IFS) Support Worker position sits within the Family Services Team at Castlemaine Health and works collaboratively with a range of agencies within the Mount Alexander Shire and surrounds to provide a predominantly outreach-based response to disadvantaged or vulnerable families who are referred to the service through The Orange Door.

Working within the Social Model of Health, the IFS Support Worker uses a strengths-based, trauma-informed model of care to provide comprehensive case-management to children and families, including therapeutic interventions, group work, advocacy, capacity building, practical support, referrals and brokerage.

This role works in close collaboration with a range of complimentary organisations, services and stakeholders, including schools, MCHN, Family Violence Services, Child Protection, ELC's, Mental Health Services, GPs and the community to deliver best outcomes for children and families.

Attending relevant agency and network meetings and participating in regular professional training is a requirement of this position as well as taking a collaborative and co-operative approach to working closely with families and developing relationships with partners and agencies which support and promote improved family functioning, capacity building and independent problem-solving skills.

Work Plan supervision, external clinical casework and group work supervision are provided as part of internal professional support and development.
