Can you tell me more about what you do at VLSB+C?

Great question! We're really proud of the work we do. We are the regulator of the Victorian legal profession. We license lawyers and oversee service standards and conduct. This includes handling complaints about lawyers, investigating poor conduct and overseeing management of trust accounts. We are also the stewards of the public purpose and fidelity funds and administer these to support legal regulation and access to justice in Victoria.

We are a modern best practice regulator, using data and insights to help identify where our actions can have the greatest impact on ensuring ethical and professional legal practice by Victorian lawyers. We are passionate about maintaining and protecting the rule of law by ensuring the integrity of the legal profession.

Okay, and what role are you recruiting for?

We're looking for a number of Resolutions Liaison Officers to join our Costs Disputes and Compliance team, in our Licensing and Complaints Division. You will aim at assisting the team in handling enquiries received by consumers and help resolve consumer matters complaints.

In the role you'll be using your experience in dispute and complaint management and legislation interpretation in previous roles to attend to consumers matters complaints. You would also ideally have a good understanding of the operation of legal practices and complaints.

This is getting interesting, what type of person are you looking for?

We are looking for candidates with the following skillset:

  • Experience in a dispute or complaint management environment
  • A well-developed understanding of how to interpret and apply legislation
  • A good understanding of the operation of legal practice and of the complaints provisions relating to the regulation of legal practitioners and legal practices in Victoria
  • A high level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office.

That sounds like me!How are you different from other organisations?

We're really excited by our organization, we:

  • have a strong focus on building our culture, our organizational culture results are better than the wider VPS by an average of 9%.
  • offer a hybrid model with three days working from home to support your work/life balance.
  • offer great career development opportunities.

I want to know more!
