Role Purpose

As a leader of the department, the Secretary is tasked with leading the department's agenda. The Secretary is responsible for ensuring that the department delivers policies, services and reforms to benefit Victorians, particularly those who are disadvantaged or vulnerable, including across the areas of child protection, housing, disability, the prevention of family violence, multicultural affairs, LGBTQI+ equality, veterans, women and youth.

About you

This opportunity will suit a strongly values driven and seasoned executive leader. Beyond the core responsibilities of this role as a Department Head, you will be part of and play an active role with your peers on the Victorian Secretaries Board. You will bring a collaborative approach and willingness to considering common problems both within your department and across the Victorian public sector more broadly.

Building and leveraging partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes in delivery, people-centred policy development to support Victorian communities will be in your DNA.
