Position Details

Position Summary:

The Senior Advisor Insurance Services is responsible for the coordination of insurance portfolio both for the Department's corporate interests, hospitals and health services, and other funded agencies. This position requires an enthusiastic, well organised individual who works with Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) and coordinates cost effective insurance solutions to operational risks that arise for the department and its funded agency sectors.

This position plays a key role in the identification of financial risk that arises within the health portfolio. It will work closely with the government insurance and risk advisors, VMIA, to evaluate risk exposures, seek risk management solutions and arrange cost effective insurance as required.

This position also provides governance and compliance functions support to the team.

The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned in this document but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its workers and clients. As it is an essential element of any role within the department that employees be able to attend work onsite and to do so safely, employees are required to be up-to-date with their vaccinations against COVID-19 as a condition of their employment. This requirement applies unless they have a medical condition which means they cannot be vaccinated against COVID -19.
