Position Details

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded, community-based emergency services organisations. We are proud of the work we do in protecting lives and property, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CFA strives to be a values-based organisation and an organisation of choice for volunteers and employees, where people with a variety of skills, experiences and backgrounds all add value through the roles they perform.

About the Role:

We have an exciting full time, fixed term opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Learning and Development professional to join our D16 Ararat working through to 30 June 2024.  You will be joining a team who are truly passionate about training and you will have the opportunity to have a positive impact around the training of our volunteers.

Not only will this role see you work within a great team, you will also be contributing to the coordination of the design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs that encourage, maintain and strengthen the capability of our volunteers – enhancing their role within the delivery of CFA services. You will provide direct support and advice to Regional Learning and Development teams, ensuring consistency and standardisation of training and work closely with stakeholders.

A day in the life of the CLD Leadership will include:

  • Collaboratively developing a training plan to support the capability requirements of brigades in the District, coordinating and preparing training resources and materials including tracking and ordering materials as required.
  • Communicating with internal and external customers, and with external providers.
  • Preparing reports on training activities and course delivery performance measures. Undertake analysis and present findings/recommendations to support the planning and monitoring of training activities.
  • Manage training records – entry, processing, assessment, validation and archival.
  • Support their Manager to maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) ensure data quality for Leadership.
  • Ensure learning and assessment materials are compliant with the AQFT standards and support the maintenance of CFA's RTO status.
  • Coordinate accreditation courses and professional development for Trainers and Assessors to ensure CFA are compliant with our RTO standards

About You:

The person we are looking for will have proven experience in a related role with well-developed written and verbal communication skills to develop reports & correspondence and to convey training information and objectives to internal & external customers.  Ideally you will also bring an understanding of contemporary-based training and development business practices.

Crucial to your success in this role is the requirement of TAE40116 and a strong understanding of the arrangements, standards and environment of an RTO. Members/candidates who are in the process of acquiring a TAE40116 or who have a TAE 40110 may be considered.

Naturally, you will be highly organised, adaptable and able to juggle and prioritise multiple projects within budget, quality and time parameters. Further to this you will be professional, a great team member and excel in your follow up on tasks.

If you have a genuine desire to work with an organisation that has a meaningful purpose in the community and are passionate about all things training, this fixed term role may be the next step in your career.
