Position Details

Working at Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) means being part of something big.

We oversee more than 40 projects as a cornerstone of Victoria's Big Build, including some of the State's most important roads.

With this growing portfolio of projects, our desire to strategically drive the development and implementation of MRPV's Risk and Assurance Program has meant we have newly created two roles to contribute to lead and drive this important function.

Join us in building better connections for Victoria by:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of MRPV's corporate risk, assurance, business continuity and compliance framework and associated tools including registers, guidelines, and systems.
  • Undertaking Strategic, Operational and Project level risk reviews and assisting in the development and maintenance of risk, issue, and opportunity registers.
  • Building, maintaining and influencing effective working relationships to actively gain cooperation as well as working collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including broader government and the construction industry.
  • Supporting the Risk and Assurance Manager's reporting responsibilities to various Committee's regarding MRPV's risk, compliance, and assurance status, including but not limited to Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC), Victorian Auditor-General's Office (VAGO) and the Victorian Ombudsman.
  • Undertaking risk and assurance training activities within the MTIA to professionally develop staff and peers.

These two Senior Advisor, Risk and Assurance positions will play a critical role in protecting and creating value for the VPS through strategic business planning, performance management and overall governance to ensure sound financial management and efficient service delivery.

These opportunities will be ideal for someone with a background in risk and compliance or auditing who is savvy at building relationships and excellent at influencing and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.

This role is a 3-year fixed-term position based at MRPV's headquarters at 180 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. Note: Travel to our metro and regional offices will be required for this role.

We do work that matters:

  • At our heart is a commitment to building better roads throughout Victoria.  It's about creating more capacity for our network, improving safety and ensuring drivers enjoy more reliable journeys. But this is just beginning! Value proposition/Benefits

MRPV also welcomes flexible working arrangements, and should you be interested in part time availabilities, we encourage you to apply and discuss your preferences with our Talent Team.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which include national police checks and misconduct screening. Please be advised that it is requirement for all MTIA staff to be compliant with the MTIA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (the Policy). The Policy stipulates that, unless an employee is an Excepted Person within the meaning of the Policy, in order to attend an MTIA workplace the employee must hold ‘up-to-date' vaccination status in accordance with ATAGI guidance, which for most includes their primary vaccination course and booster. Should you require further information about the Policy, please have a conversation with our Talent Acquisition team.
