  • Salary commensurate with experience, range: $86,915 - $108,642 plus superannuation
  • Attractive employee benefits including salary packaging

About the role:
You will provide high quality legal services and appear predominately as an Independent Children's Lawyer in the Family Law Courts to protect the rights and interests of children, often those at risk of physical or emotional harm. You will maintain a substantial caseload and provide expert legal advice and information to parents, children and young people involved in family law proceedings.

This requires an understanding of the different, and often complex, emotional, cognitive and intellectual developmental stages, family structures, family dynamics, sibling relationships, religious and cultural backgrounds that each child experiences.

About you:
You will have extensive practical experience across a broad range of family law matters and have a thorough understanding of the law and social science research regarding children. You will also have experience dealing with complex matters commencing from initiating proceedings through to trial in the Family and Federal Circuit Courts. You may have experience as an Independent Children's Lawyer or looking to expand and extend your knowledge, skills and expertise into this area of work.

You will have high level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and effective advice and to influence and negotiate successful outcomes. Crucial to your success in this role will be your ability to manage multiple priorities and casework without direct supervision and while under a high degree of pressure.
