Position Details
South West Healthcare's (SWH) Hamilton Adult Community Mental Health Service is seeking applications from a committed and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join the team and provide experience, growth and development.
About the role
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will support consumers with severe and persistent mental illness living within the local community. In a recovery oriented model of care, consumers, their families and carers are provided with clinical and non-clinical treatment as part of short and long term case management. Service provision is recovery oriented and trauma informed utilising natural and existing community supports as required in the South West region.
Occupational Therapists work with using systematic mechanisms that ensure regular communication and the flow of information with other clinical staff and professionals, families, and stakeholder groups located both internally and externally to South West Healthcare.
Permanent full time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO and part time (48 hours per fortnight) positions available.
Permanent 64-80 hours per fortnight are eligible for an incentive payment for rent, childcare, relocation costs and more, as part of the new workforce and incentive grants program administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).
What you bring
The successful applicant will be an experienced and qualified Occupational Therapist with the ability to demonstrate excellent skills and broad experience in mental health clinical services, including a proven ability to work within a team based multi-disciplinary model. A working knowledge of Recovery Oriented practices, trauma informed care, current mental health trends, legislation and relevant policy directions of mental health services is also essential for this role.
Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work autonomously and within a team, as well as an ability to work with limited direction, be self-motivated, and provide effective problem-solving and negotiation skills is a must.
