Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. law degree) and experience in a similar role, including experience working with and applying legislative provisions and processes, would be highly regarded.

Position Details

As the Deputy Registrar, you will be responsible for supporting the Registrar to coordinate the Building Appeals Board's (the Board) activities and manage the provision of administrative support to the Board. The role is responsible for: leading and enhancing the appeals and disputes process, systems development, the implementation of improved procedures and processes, identifying trends and opportunities for improvements, the provision of high-level advice, liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including board members, practitioners and consumers. The role is fast paced, multi-faceted and provides an opportunity to perform a function that benefits both the construction industry and the community.

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

 

  1. well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate information in a clear and confident manner to a range of internal and external stakeholders;
  2.   
  3. demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring team members and coordinating projects and resources, within an environment of competing demands and tight timeframes;
  4.   
  5. strong organisational and self-management skills, including the ability to manage high        volume workloads and handle competing demands and deadlines;
  6.   
  7. demonstrated experience producing accurate work with excellent attention to detail; and  
  8.   
  9. ability to proactively identify opportunities for workplace innovation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Salary Details

A base Salary in the Grade 5.2 range of $107,119 - $117,293 per annum (plus 9.5% super), will be negotiated with the successful candidate, depending on their skills and experience.

The role is offered as a permanent role.
