Position Details

About the team

The Enrolment Communications Team Leader is a member of the Enrolment Registry Leadership Team. The Enrolment Registry team is responsible for the Victorian Register of Electors. This includes ensuring the accuracy, integrity, completeness and security of the Register of Electors.

The team provides information to the public face to face, by phone and by email on a daily basis and is responsible for developing strategies to encourage active enrolment participation. We take an elector-centric approach to our communications and consistently strive for ways to improve the elector experience.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Enrolment Registry Manager, the Enrolment Communications Team Leader (known internally as Enrolment Communications Coordinator) maintains the suite of enrolment communications products, including digital and online channels. The position also liaises with key suppliers, such as print and mail house services.

This role also leads the VEC's front of house services, including supervision of two team members.

This role assists in developing and implementing communication strategies to increase enrolment participation rates within Victoria.

During this fixed-term contract, you will be responsible for:

  • the oversight of the front of house functions and enrolment communication channels;
  • simplifying the creation and dissemination of information for internal and external stakeholders;
  • overseeing a project to ensure that electoral details are up to date;
  • developing template responses to common enquiries to ensure consistent and timely response to enquiries; and
  • providing relevant guidance, support and training across the Enrolment Registry Team.

About you

To be successful, you have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Leading a team in a service delivery environment.
  • Creating communication products that meet user needs and improve service delivery efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex messages for audiences while still compliant with legislative requirements.
  • Developing business processes, procedures and documentation, taking account of compliance with legislation and service standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Access to develop and deliver templates, processes and workflows.
