About the role
Opportunities are available in our Neonatal Unit at the Warrnambool campus of Southwest Healthcare. We invite you to join our friendly, cohesive and supportive team.
Southwest Healthcare provides a Level 3 Newborn Service, with an 8 bed capacity. We pride ourselves in providing excellent family centred care to babies from 34 weeks gestation.
Four of our beds have the capability for a parent to room in with their baby, encouraging parenting, breastfeeding, education and bonding.
Our Neonatal Unit is located within our Level 4 Maternity Unit. With admissions from birth suite, our postnatal unit and transfers from other facilities, including step down care from tertiary units, our focus is both on emergency care and on-going care of premature neonates.
All new staff will be orientated and supported by our experienced Neonatal Unit team, clinical educator and clinical support midwife to gain skills and competence to deal with both the emergency and routine admissions to the unit.
This position is permanent part time (up to 64 hours per fortnight).

- Current, condition free registration with APHRA as a Registered Nurse.

- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Recent experience caring for sick and/or premature neonates.
- Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.

Employment Terms and Conditions will be in line with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024with the appropriate classification of Registered Nurse Grade 2 $69,253.60 - $95378.40 per annum pro rata.
