About us 

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.   

About the role 

The Regulatory Transaction Services (RTS) provides business and occupational licensing and not-for-profit registration services to Victorians. 

Reporting to the RTS Team Leader, Senior Regulatory Officers (SROs) are responsible for the timely and accurate processing of applications and other routine processes in line with statutory requirements for various licensing and registration schemes administered by CAV. 

SROs also provide information to clients both verbally and in writing and accurately record information in CAV's licensing and registration databases. 

There are 2 ongoing positions available. The work location for these positions is Melbourne CBD with hybrid work arrangements. 

Key Accountabilities include: 

  • Perform more complex processing tasks associated with RTS' regulatory activities ensuring accurate, timely and professional services are provided to regulatory clients (individuals and entities). 
  • Uses knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, policies and processes and exercises professional judgement in making decisions and shares ideas and experiences to contribute to RTS goals and targets. 
  • Prepare recommendations on more complex matters for consideration by others (such as the Business Licensing Authority or the Motor Car Traders Claims Committee)

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:  

  • Experience in applying legislation and operational policy to service delivery processes.
