About the role

The purpose of this position is to close service gaps, manage and coordinate onboarding activity for an Operations & Maintenance (OM) Contract with South Gippsland Water, and deliver foundation planning and assessments to inform the long-term operational management strategy for water and wastewater at Tidal River in collaboration with South Gippsland Water.

The purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate onboarding activity for an Operating & Management Contract with South Gippsland Water and deliver foundation planning and assessments to inform the long-term operational management strategy for water and wastewater at Tidal river in collaboration with South Gippsland Water.

The Project Manager is required to perform a variety of tasks and work in all phases of a project, from the beginning stages to completion under limited direction. The Project Manager must have a sound understanding of project management and of the goals and priorities of the work. The position reports directly to the Senior Manager Asset Management but may take direction from the Project Sponsor, and/or the Project Control Group depending on the specific project complexity/focus and requirements.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering is highly desirable
  • Experience working in a water agency, on Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants, or underground piping projects
  • Can demonstrate extensive experience working in either the water or wastewater industry
  • Demonstrated, extensive experience in business analysis and design in public and/or private sector environments
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of public sector governance requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Regular and unplanned travel to Tidal River will be required as part of this role
