About the role

Our Mental Health Service is excited to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse, to be based on our Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (MHAIU) to assist the Nurse Unit Manager- Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit, in developing, maintaining and evaluating bed based specialist programs.

In addition to this the CNC will assist with the development and implementation of clinical frameworks relevant for a Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (MHAIU), whilst also supporting in the mentoring and development of the ANUM's within the MHAIU.  This role is well supported by Clinical Nurse Educator, Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and the Director of Nursing - Mental Health & wellbeing, offering the opportunity to assist in the development, implementation of programs that promote and underpin a high quality service.

To further support this role, the successful applicant will also be able to collaborate with other Clinical Nurse Consultants from other mental health Services within Victoria.

What you bring

The successful applicant will have well developed competency and analytical skills in the clinical field; the ability to communicate and manage effectively at all levels, and must have a minimum of 2 years' experience as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager within an Acute Inpatient Unit or equivalent. As the role is a Grade 5 position the successful applicant is required to have completed either a post graduate diploma in Psychiatric/ Mental Health Nursing or a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program or a specialist post basic course of training.
