Position Details

Nurse Unit Manager – Urgent Care Centre

Permanent Full-time – 80 hours per fortnight

We are looking for someone with a high level of leadership skills to step into this role of Nurse Unit Manager in our Urgent Care Centre. You will be responsible for the daily operational management of the Urgent Care Centre, using your extensive clinical and leadership experience to ensure patients receive the best care and support possible.

The successful applicant must have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong focus on patient-centred care
  • Be highly motivated
  • Previous experience and/or qualifications in Emergency Nursing
  • Strong clinical skills

Key Selection Criteria

Essential Attributes (including minimum qualifications):

KSC1    Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.

KSC2    Demonstrated excellence in leadership and management competencies.

KSC3    Manages and engages with stakeholders consistent with MDHS strategic direction.

KSC4    Excellent interpersonal skills.

KSC5    Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, coordination and organisational skills.

KSC6    Experience in change management processes.

KSC7    Knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues including workplace health and safety, equal opportunity and anti-discrimination.

KSC8    Uses a range of software application features including patient information systems Microsoft Office© Suite.

KSC9   A working knowledge of the National Standards.

KSC10 Driver's Licence and satisfactory National Police Certificate.

Desirable Attributes:

KSC11  Relevant Post Graduate qualifications in Management or undertaking current studies.
