Position Details
The Social Worker role is responsible for delivering a broad range of social work services for clients across the lifespan in the inpatient and outpatient setting at Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) Kyneton campus. Working in close collaboration with medical, nursing and allied health staff on wards and in outpatient clinics, the Social Work role aims to deliver the best outcomes for the patient and their family while also working in close collaboration with other service providers within the hospital and the community.
The incumbent will provide social and emotional assessment and intervention for patients and their family where health issues are identified as impacting on quality of life. This includes areas such as sexual and reproductive health, a new diagnosis, chronic illness, trauma, bereavement, social issues impacting on the patient's wellbeing and family functioning, parenting difficulties, psychological health issues, family violence and a broad range of social support issues. Social Workers are also responsible for ensuring that the needs of vulnerable children are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
Details of Appointment: Working 40 hours per fortnight, in a fixed term capacity due to being funded for 3 year period.
Salary: dependent on experience, as per award - Grade 1, Year 3 $39.05 - Year 7 $44.74 per hour + 11% superannuation

Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) is a rural health organisation that operates five campuses across Hepburn Shire and the Macedon Ranges in the Central Highlands of Victoria in Australia, north and north-west of Melbourne. It was formed through the voluntary amalgamation of Hepburn Health Service and Kyneton District Health on the 30th November 2019.
