About the Role

South West Healthcare is seeking a passionate and skilled Mental Health Clinician to lead our Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement (HOPE) team. The HOPE team, part of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Directorate, is a non-clinical assertive outreach support service focused on empowering individuals by connecting them with informal and formal supports. We provide guidance, encouragement, motivation, and follow-up care after a suicide attempt or during a suicidal crisis. The overarching goal of HOPE is to reduce the risk of subsequent suicide attempts by supporting consumers for up to 12 weeks.

In collaboration with the Manager of Referral Services, the HOPE Team Leader will support the HOPE team by allocating casework, establishing care pathways, overseeing service expansion activities, and providing clinical supervision to team members.

Position Overview

  • Permanent - Part Time, 64 hours per fortnight
  • Warrnambool Campus
  • Classification: Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Social Worker/Occupational Therapist/Psychologist Grade 3
  • Salary Range: $92.627.60 - $121,477.20, pro rata + superannuation

 What You Bring

As a health professional, you will demonstrate skills and extensive experience in mental health clinical services, with a proven ability to work within a team-based, multi-disciplinary model. A working knowledge of recovery-oriented practices, trauma-informed care, current mental health trends, legislation, and relevant policy directions in mental health services is essential for this role.

Additionally, you will have:

  • Appropriate qualifications and registration with the relevant Board or Association in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and extensive experience in coordinating a multi-disciplinary team.
  • An understanding of models of assertive outreach and recovery-oriented mental health care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work with limited direction, be self-motivated, and provide effective problem-solving, negotiation, and change management.
