The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to provide a critical role within Corporate Services and Infrastructure.

About the Business Unit

Technology Services and Data Security (TSDS) explores and employs technology to enable the department's business to function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and oversees the delivering of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.

About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst - Technical Writer is overseeing the quality and control of all documentation that is produced throughout the assigned program or project.  This includes developing quality control processes covering both DJCS and vendor developed documentation to ensure timely delivery and consistency with content format, language and structure.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Implementing, managing and overseeing the ongoing quality and control processes.
  • Managing, leading and providing authoritative advice to team members across all project streams.
  • Delivering regular reports to the Program Control Manager on the status of deliverables to enable effective vendor management, forecasting and management of risk and issues.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Solid experience working as a technical writer developing a range of ICT documentation on a large ICT project or programme of work.
  • Good knowledge of, and experience working in a range of methodologies and skills (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, ITIL, DevOps), including iterative, incremental and agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, ScrumBan, SAFe).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to build and maintain effective relationships

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary or post graduate qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Appropriate vocation qualifications and certifications, e.g. Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service Management or Change Management, are highly desirable.
